Glenn Wagner 51 / Male Omaha, NE
Glenn Wagner 13896-047 FCI Pekin P.O.Box 5000 Pekin, IL 61555

Enjoy board games, card games, camping, hiking, swimming, cooking, etc. Able to have fun in any situation; find and promote the positive things in others/ I am a physical person who enjoys the simple things, like holding hands, or walking and talking. I believe I am trustworthy, loyal, and honest. I am a Christian and believe I am reasonably intelligent, although I am no genius. I am looking for a like-minded person.
My name is Glenn Wagner and I am searching for a Christian friend for a pen-pal. I was baptized 9-17-05; I am a Christian/Seventh Day Adventist, Single and was born 12-27-1958. Unfortunately, I've made some serious mistakes in my life which is why I'm now serving time in a correctional facility. My sentence is 151 months and I go to the 1/2 way house in May of 2015. I am in prison because after I had my second back surgery (2 - lumbar fusions due to fractured vertebrae) the doctors took me off of pain killers and I turned to cocaine for pain control. I then went to smoking cocaine (crack) and to help pay for what I was smoking I sold it too. As far as my schooling, I have one year of college, 1 year at ITT, two (2) VT course completions (Certified Microsoft Office Specialist and finishing Certified Addictions Associate Professional ) certificates [finish CAAP in May. I enjoy reading, helping others and currently am working in the Education Department of the prison as a GED Tutor. I enjoy math and science though I doubt I could plot anything more than a straight line trajectory on a star chart and don't ask me to use a sextant or a slide rule; I read fantasy novels (Sword of Truth; Wheel of Time; Dragonriders of Pern Series) and I enjoy board games and card games; my son will turn 16 this March (2010) and is graduating early from HS with intentions of joining the Marine Corps. I am looking for a friend/someone who can communicate well in writing and is willing to help me grow spiritually (as I am a Christian), mentally (it is always good to learn more) and emotionally (we all need someone we can trust and rely on). If you write to me I will answer any/all questions with total honesty. While here in prison, I have completed/am taking the previously mentioned VT courses, learned more about addictions so as to be able to help others, and have found that I enjoy helping others, so it should all work out well for me in the future when I am released. I have over 20 years experience in a team work environment and will seek employment in that type of work place again. As I am from Omaha, NE, I will be returning to the area as this is also where my family resides.
I'd like to add just a bit about my Christian background. I have been a baptized member of the SDA Peoria Church since 9-17-2005; the reason I am unable to receive mentoring from them is that they have been coming into the prison since before I was here (1994) and they are not allowed to have contact beyond the Sabbath Services we have here, so none of them can do any mentoring. I am taking Bible Study courses through the American Bible Academy, and Crossroads Bible Institute, and sometimes questions arise. Since we don't always get to have Sabbath Services (depends on if the Chaplains come to work or not since they won't open the Chapel without them any more) it can take a while to ask the questions I come up with.
I cannot change my past, only my future and know that my faith along with my determination will see me through to better times. I would truly enjoy a friend to write to and hope that my letter touches someone to do so.
In Christ,
Glenn
