Narciso Salas is a 44-year-old Chicano cat, originally from Uvalde, TX, now transplanted in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

Unfortunately, he is serving a four year / six month sentence in a federal prison. Whoa, whoa, whoa ladies! — no violence, no sex crimes. "El Narz", as his friends call him, loves to laugh and have a good time. Currently he works in UniCOR, which is a privately-run factory that offers inmates jobs through the Bureau of Prisons. He is a telemarketer and is the go-to guy for anything you need done in a cage. From doing laundry to making the best danged (that's right, "danged"!) burritos one has ever tasted in prison.

He is a bit on the overweight side, but as you can see from his most recent picture, he is more "adorably plump and cuddly" than he is fat. :) He has long hair and tattoos, and works from sun-up to sun-down while maintaining a solid pulse on that million-dollar smile (as you can see). He loves to write poetry, and is trying to compile the story of his life—a sort of All-Mexican-American novel. He prays to be able to bring it together once he is able to sit by his computer one day. Narz has successfully completed the Culinary Arts class at LSCI Allenwood and is currently attending a computer class to improve both his typing skills and computer knowledge. He is studying marketing as well as reading several books, such as The History of Mexico, Where the Red Fern Grows and Dickens – Great Expectations for the third time. Reading and verse are his two main loves.

Narz is not married at the moment, nor does he have any children…anywhere. He is working hard on his spiritual life and has been steadily working through a bible study group with the Crossroad Bible Institute for nearly three years now. He is quoted as saying that, "It brings me peace of mind and soul, and I am full of joy," but adds, "yes, I do make mistakes but God knows I am human and I know He is there waiting to forgive me."

He is looking for pen pals of any age and to please send photos. The prison life is tough but it won't be long now till he is a free man. You can write to him using the mailing address below.

Admin Note: Narciso Salas is a major contributor to Prison Voices. Over time, he has donated nearly 200 stamps for the cause, that get used for replying to letters from inmates that cannot afford to include SASE's. A lot of good people thank you, Narz, including the U.S. Postal Service for keeping them in business.:)
